The book covers Maya Angelou, Langston Hughes, and many others remembered as icons in the arts and literature. Human rights activists Malcolm X, Rosa Parks, and Martin Luther King Jr., and political leaders Barack Obama and Nelson Mandela all make an appearance.
In the world of science, you will read about Lewis H. Latimer, inventor of the first electric light bulbs; Guion Bluford Jr., the first Black American in space, and Dr. Charles R. Drew, who invented the blood plasma bag. Learn about music legends Billie Holiday, Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, and Beyoncé, and sports stars LeBron James, Muhammad Ali, and Venus and Serena Williams, and their amazing records.
