History
The AuthorVeteran broadcaster Kingsley H. Smith worries that community focused radio has seen better days. The award winning program director - announcer explains why, based on his full-time experiences in New York City, Washington, DC and Philadelphia. Decades of radio history are revealed throughout his award winning Powerhouse Radio book. In multiple monthly articles, Smith has also written professionally about music for the former San Francisco online lifestyle website TBD. Hugh Smith, Kingsley's middle name, is the author of People in Black History: Famous African Americans paperback and eBook. Kingsley is a graduate of Rutgers University.
Media ExperienceSmith’s radio history spans four decades plus of engagement at Black, jazz, top 40, adult contemporary, soft rock and public radio stations. His stories chronicle life as an on-air performer. His important management choices summarize significant decisions effecting the lives of radio staff, and the entertainment options of radio listeners.
